EditCameramen - COMING SOON

In today’s market, it is becoming more common for clients to look for multi skilled camera operators who can offer something more than just great looking pictures. They are looking for Cameramen who can also edit the pictures they just shot into a nicely cut package.

For a while here at TVCameramen, we’ve been mulling over the idea of setting up an area of the website to be devoted to just that. A site focusing on what is important to cameramen who edit. As well as those who want to learn to edit.

Over the next few months, we will be looking at various aspects of the Post Production world and offering a range of articles, reviews and advice aimed specifically at Cameramen who edit.

This section will not be aimed at those out there who want to be feature film editors as there are many sites devoted to the art of editing as well as numerous sites devoted to other post productions needs. This will simply be a resource for those of us out there who want to learn more about the editing process and how it affects our roles as cameramen.

Some of the subjects EditCameramen will focus on in the next few months are:

  • The pros and cons of the top NLE (Non Linear Edit) systems and which we think is the best suited to the role of Cameraman/Editor.
  • Things to think about when buying a new computer based edit system.
  • Covering such grey areas as graphic card requirements and backup solutions.
  • News and reviews of the latest products and events
  • A forum for us to share and discuss all aspects of our post production world.
  • Some of our favourite tips and tricks from the top NLE programs
  • A Blog from a tape-to-tape editor who is making the transition to NLE.

So I hope you will join us over the next few months at EditCameramen and find out just how the world of Post Production can work for you.
