Featuring an ultra-precise phase change rewritable recording material formulation that facilitates realizing the highest sustained transfer rates, the TDK PD-RE23CN is fully optimized for heavy duty XDCAM HD recording, such as capturing 1080i video and high quality audio along with large volumes of metadata. Further highlighted by its ultra-quiet operation and rapid random data access capabilities, the PD-RE23CN is media that’s equally well equipped for the rigors of extreme field acquisition environments and the fast pace of post production suites.
The PD-RE23CN is ideally equipped to accommodate the XDCAM HD’s most advanced features such as 1080i recording and four tracks of uncompressed audio. With an XDCAM HD, recording time per disc is more than 60 minutes at 35 Mbps, 90 minutes at 25 Mbps and over 120 minutes at 18 Mbps.

Designed to digital master quality specifications, TDK Pro Grade HDV media features a two layer tape structure with Dual Layer Metal Evaporation (DLME) and Hard Carbon Protective Layer (HCPL) technologies.
TDK Pro Grade HDV will be available in May 2006.
