The Kit Cool

Pascal Coulombier's doctor advised him to change jobs. He was a soundman for French TV and holding the boom-pole day after day gave him some serious muscle problems. Anybody who worked as a soundman knows how much strain and how tiring it is to hold a boom-pole for long periods of time, especially for those overhead positions

In order to keep doing what he loves so much and not having to visit the doctor so often he invented a device to support the pole without any strain on his arms. He produced one for himself but the device was such a success that other soundmen started requesting one for them selves. So he gave it a name and he took this little device into production, ending up selling more than four hundred of them up to date.

The "Kit Cool" is a device that allows a boom-pole to be supported by one hand, freeing the other hand for level adjustment, moving obstacles or other essential activities. The pole is supported by a belt clip and a neck strap with a support cushion and has a cradle of foam covered rollers, which allow a boom pole to be positioned and moved in all directions without vibration and reducing arm strain. The "Kit Cool" is said to offer total freedom of moving forward and back, and rotating around its own axis for precise microphone positioning. The three section telescopic support pole is adjustable from 550 to 1100 mm with an a ¼ turn clutch. The "Kit Cool" can also be used to support small lights.

The Kit Cool weights 450grs, comes with a one year guarantee and is patented and made under license by BOOM Audio, France
